Your Prints – What to expect:

Minor surface imperfections are to be expected. All prints are currently offered in PLA. Inspect products carefully upon reciept. There is no return or exchange policy once the product is accepted. Do not leave prints in excessive heat or cold. For example do not leave them in the car in extreme summer heats or cold winter days. Do not leave outside. Do not clean with caustic cleaners, but use simple dish soap and water if cleaning products. They are 3D printed and not injection molded. As such they may be more brittle than a commericially manufactured product. Use reasonable care in handling. It is debated on whether any 3D print is food safe, and as such should not be treated as such.

Custom Designs:

Can you have a customized design? YES! Licensed designs cannot be customized but everything else can. From color to actual design changes, such as adding features or adjusting sizes. Just inquire. Depending on change(s) requested there may be a cost associated but I will let you know up front.

Want something you don’t see?

Just ask. It is typical for me to take custom design requests. If I think it would make a good product for general resale, I will charge minimal or no design costs. One of a kind or one off products, I will do but may require a design fee, depending on the complexity of the project. I will do a free consultation and then give you an estimate before beginning.

Can you print this thing from XYZ site:

I will not print and sell something I do not have a license for. That said many products you find, especially on Makerworld, will offer a commercial license. If you are willing to pay the license cost, material and markup then I am happy to print other products. I will not print any products if they utilize copyrighted/trademarked materials, regardless is they offer a commercial license. If you aren’t sure, ask. If it is a generic design and you want something similar, inquire. I won’t rip off another persons design but some things are generic enough I may be able to design a similar product for you. I will not simply modify another designer’s product, unless it is in public domain (they give permission to anyone for any use) or they allow derivative commercial works.

Custom Art Notes:

-Will not do copyright or trademarked art

-Translating artwork to 3D printed medium is not like traditional printing. Art may need to be simplified and reduced. Colors are limited to filaments available. Best work to reference or provide is vector artwork with limited color palettes and details. Up to eight colors are currently available but anything past 5 colors will be an additional fee.

-Will show you translated image results before finalizing

Developed by Me:

I am working to eventually develop artist relationships that customers can utilize but I do not have such services available. I am not an artist. I can provide custom art, but it will be AI generated.

Provide by You:

Your personal artwork – always acceptable provided it does not utilize copyrighted/trademarked material in the artwork. Some fanart policies are more permissive but just because you drew it doesn’t mean it doesn’t violate copyright. As soon as money changes hands it typically falls out of most companies fan art permissions.

Licensed artwork – you need to have rights and permissions to any commercial artwork, and it needs to include the proper commercial license. It needs specifically to have permission to utilize on products. Make sure you check with me before purchasing something to provide to me. I am not responsible if you purchase something with the incorrect content or license necessary to proceed. Vecteezy is the only affordable option I have found for artwork that has all the necessary rights and permissions. Any source is acceptable but licenses are tricky. Pay attention and again check with me before purchasing anything, even from Vecteezy.

AI Generated – Identified as such. Must not utilize copyright/trademarked images or subjects. Must not simply mimic an existing artists work. Must be generated by you or shown you have permission from source to utilize for print. Make sure you check with me before purchasing something. I am not responsible if you purchase something with the incorrect content or license necessary to proceed.

I may require you to provide prompt history when submitting AI artwork. Cost for additional copies drops after initial design. Initial cost is generating or translating existing art to a printable design.

AI Notes:

Product Design

Product geometry and design is 100% completed by me, derived from public works which allow derivative designs or licensed from another designer. I do not utilize AI in any form for product design.

Product Art

Artwork is a mix of licensed materials and AI generated art. I will always identify AI generated art. I utilize Google Gemini or ChatGPT when utilizing AI to assist in generating artwork. I will never ask it to imitate another designer / artist. I will not show copyrighted/trademarked material. I always do a check after generation to try to ensure that the result is not someone’s existing work or is a mimicry of an existing artist.
